Ismael Guerrero serves as President & CEO of Recurrent Energy and Corporate Vice President at Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ). He served as Corporate Vice President and President of Canadian Solar’s Energy business since July 2019 before the company was rebranded as Recurrent Energy in 2023. Ismael is an accomplished executive with over 15 years of experience in the solar energy sector. Before re-joining Canadian Solar, Ismael served as President and Head of Origination at Terraform Global and CEO of SunEdison Southeast Asia. He also previously served as Canadian Solar’s Vice President of Global Projects and was instrumental in developing the Company’s global project development pipeline, including project sales, project financing and EPC activities. Ismael holds a B.S. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Seville, was a graduate student at Yale University and graduated from the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Jeremy Avenier

Jeremy Avenier is the Chief Financial Officer of Recurrent Energy and brings over 25 years of experience in financial executive roles across multiple industries and geographies. Most recently he has been focused in executing IPOs, acquisitions and business integrations raising over $3B in debt and equity. He brings 15 years of experience in GE and has spent the last 10 years in the ESG sector with SunEdison, Terraform and Ohmium. Jeremy is proficient at partnering with organizational leaders to enable success through system enhancements and process simplification. Jeremy holds a bachelor’s degree from Lancaster University and Paris Dauphine. He has attended the Executive Training Program at Stanford University and has a decade of experience in community building on the Board of non-profits such as Larkin Street Youth Services.

David Springer serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Recurrent Energy. In this role David leads the Safety, Legal, IT, M&A, and Program Management organizations and is responsible for the overall delivery of completed solar and energy storage projects globally. David is an accomplished industry executive with over 30 years experience in the solar energy sector and semiconductor manufacturing. David began his career in renewable energy in 2011 as VP of Manufacturing at SunEdison/MEMC, then moved to the Solar Materials division in 2013 as COO and head of SunEdison’s global EPC group. Most recently David co-founded FTC Solar, a utility-scale solar tracking systems provider, and currently serves as a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Prior to entering the solar industry, David spent 16 years at Motorola/Freescale Semiconductor leading various manufacturing operations producing semiconductor chips for the wireless and automotive industries. David holds a B.S. in Marine Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and an M.S. equivalent in Nuclear Engineering from the United States Navy.

Dr. Stefano Russo serves as the Chief Commercial Officer of Recurrent Energy. He was Managing Director of Finance, Sales, and M&A of Canadian Solar’s Energy Group since August 2019 before the company was rebranded as Recurrent Energy in 2023. Stefano is an accomplished industry executive with over 15 years of experience in solar development and manufacturing. Before rejoining Canadian Solar, Stefano served as Vice President of Origination at Terraform Power leading the M&A efforts in Japan and Southeast Asia. Previously, he was Director of Asset Sales at Canadian Solar leading the project development and sale teams in USA and Japan. Before entering the photovoltaic market, Stefano spent six years as a management consultant in the Financial Institutions branch of McKinsey & Company where he arrived after graduating with a PhD in Engineering and Applied Science from Yale University. Stefano also holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (summa cum laude) from the Federico II University of Naples.

Xinbo Zhu serves as Chief Supply and Risk Officer of Recurrent Energy. He was Vice President of Operation and Project Finance of Canadian Solar’s project development business before the company was rebranded as Recurrent Energy in 2023. Previously, Xinbo was Finance Controller of Canadian Solar, covering both manufacturing and project development businesses. Xinbo joined Canadian Solar in 2014 as Special Assistant to the CEO, responsible for corporate strategy. Before joining Canadian Solar, Xinbo worked for multinational companies including Vishay, American Power Conversion and Royal Philips Electronics. Xinbo earned an MBA from Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, an M.S. in Electronic Engineering and a B.S. with double majors in Telecommunication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Ping Xu

Ping Xu serves as Chief Accounting Officer of Recurrent Energy. He was Vice President of Finance at Canadian Solar’s Energy Group before the company was rebranded as Recurrent Energy in 2023. Ping joined Canadian Solar in 2014. He has over 25 years of experience in a broad range of corporate finance & accounting functions. Prior to Canadian Solar, Ping served at various corporate finance and accounting management roles with Cameron International Corporation, Monsanto Company and Siemens. Ping holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of Montana and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Jeffrey Kalikow is General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Recurrent Energy. He joined Recurrent Energy in 2015 and previously served as General Counsel, North America, focusing on the company’s US and Canada business. n his current role, Jeffrey oversees legal work for Recurrent Energy’s business worldwide and serves as the company’s corporate secretary. Jeffrey joined Recurrent Energy from international law firm, Shearman & Sterling LLP, where he advised clients on project development, financing, and M&A activities in the energy, infrastructure, and mining sectors, primarily in the United States and Latin America. Jeffrey holds a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis. He is admitted to practice law in both New York and California.

Michael Arndt has served as President of Recurrent Energy’s North America business since 2020 and has more than two decades of experience in the renewable energy industry, particularly in utility-scale solar, wind and energy storage project development. Prior to his current role, Michael served as Managing Director of Development at Recurrent Energy. Michael joined Recurrent Energy from NRG, where he served as Vice President of Business Development, West Region. Prior to NRG, he held various leadership roles at Element Power, from Senior Vice President of Development to Chief Operating Officer. Michael sits on the Board of the American Clean Power Association, the leading federation of renewable energy companies expediting the advancement of clean energy as the dominant power source in America. Michael holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

As Chief Development Officer at Recurrent Energy, Alejandro Moreno leads a multicultural and diverse team of in-house experts involved in all the areas and activities related to the development, execution and operation of Recurrent’s solar and energy storage projects across the globe. Previously, Alejandro served as President of Europe, the Middle East & Africa (EMEA) at Recurrent Energy. Prior to leading the EMEA team, Alejandro headed Recurrent Energy’s North America and Latin America energy business divisions for nearly a decade. He has over two decades of international management experience. Alejandro joined the then nascent solar industry in 2006 and has held positions including Chief Commercial Officer for the Spanish PV manufacturer Isofoton and Regional Manager for Spain, Portugal and Latin America at Suntech Power. He began his career as a technology consultant in Accenture’s banking business unit. Alejandro holds an Agricultural Engineering Master’s degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Chief ESG and Communications Officer

Inés Arrimadas is the Chief ESG and Communications Officer at Recurrent Energy and is responsible for the company’s ESG strategy, communications, public affairs, and institutional relations.

Over the past ten years, Inés has had a successful political career in Spain, serving as a deputy and opposition leader in the Parliament of Catalonia, a member of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, the parliamentary spokesperson in that Chamber, and president of the Ciudadanos Party. Her trajectory has made her one of the most relevant women in the Spanish political landscape, with extensive experience in communications, public affairs, and knowledge of government processes from the local to the national legislative landscape, while developing strong ties with European institutions.

Before her political career, Inés worked in the private sector on numerous consulting projects related to European funds, territorial and industrial development, new technologies, among others.

Inés holds a degree in Law and Business Administration and Management from the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville, Spain, and a program in International Business Management from the Institute of Preparation for Administration and Management (IPAG) in Nice, France.

Brad Sterley has served as General Manager, Asia-Pacific (APAC) of Recurrent Energy, formerly known as Canadian Solar’s Energy Group, since 2021. Recurrent Energy is developing projects in five key countries within the Asia-Pacific region and has two regional offices. Brad’s focus on renewable energy started in the early 2000s as a banker prior to transitioning to renewable energy asset ownership in 2015 and ultimately his current role. Brad’s prior roles include Head of Structured Finance and Vice President of Corporate Development at TerraForm Global as well as Global Head of Clean Energy Project Finance at Standard Chartered Bank. Brad holds a Master of Commerce from the University of Kwazulu-Natal.

General Manager, Latin America (LATAM)

Gustavo Vajda serves as General Manager, Latin America (LATAM) of Recurrent Energy. Prior to his current role, Gustavo was Head of Business Development Brazil of Canadian Solar’s Energy Group before the company was rebranded as Recurrent Energy in 2023. As the first Canadian Solar employee in Brazil in March 2015, Gustavo led Canadian Solar’s activities and growth in the country and established a leading position with more than 4 GWp of projects in implementation and almost 8 GWp in pipeline. Gustavo brings nearly two decades of experience in business development and project management of energy projects. Before joining Canadian Solar, Gustavo held managing positions in Alstom Grid and CPFL Energia. Gustavo sits on the Board of the Brazilian Association of PV Solar Energy (ABSOLAR), the leading organization of PV solar companies that promote the development of PV solar energy market in Brazil. Gustavo holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. in Energy Markets from Unicamp and MBA degrees specializing in Finance and Project Management.

Ryota Yamada serves as General Manager of Recurrent Energy in Japan overseeing all project development, construction and asset management activities in Japan. Ryota started his career at Canadian Solar in 2013 as one of the first project development business employees in Japan. Ryota led Canadian Solar’s activities and growth in the country and established a leading position of over 500 MW of high-quality solar projects developed and constructed to date. Before joining Canadian Solar, Ryota worked for the investment and asset management divisions for Tokyo Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. Ryota has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Business Administration from China Europe International Business School.

Dylan Marx serves as President of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) at Recurrent Energy, leading a global team of over 110 professionals to provide best-in-class O&M services. Dylan was the Vice President of EPC and O&M and the General Manager of Canada Operations at Canadian Solar’s Global Energy Group before the company was rebranded as Recurrent Energy in 2023. Dylan joined Canadian Solar in 2013 where he led the EPC execution of Canadian Solar’s portfolio of projects in Ontario before taking on his current global responsibilities. Dylan has over two decades of leadership experience, having held management positions in engineering, operations and quality at Automation Tooling Systems and BlackBerry prior to joining Canadian Solar. Dylan holds an Engineering Diploma from Conestoga College and an MBA from the University of Windsor.

Rado Petkov serves as Vice President of Project Finance and M&A at Recurrent Energy. He was Managing Director for Project Finance and M&A for the Americas and, since 2022, Europe, the Middle East & Africa (EMEA) at Canadian Solar before the company was rebranded as Recurrent Energy in 2023. Rado has 18 years of experience in the solar energy industry. Prior to joining Canadian Solar in 2015, he was Managing Director at Westwood Capital, a New York investment banking firm, where he led the firm’s renewable energy practice from 2005 to 2015, advising solar developers in the U.S. and Europe on corporate M&A transactions, project acquisitions and sales, and project finance and tax equity structuring. Rado earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from the New School University in New York and attended the Advanced Professional Certificate Program in Finance at NYU Stern School of Business.

Isabel Zhang serves as Chief of Staff for the President and CEO of Recurrent Energy.  She has also been serving as Director of Investor Relations and Strategic Analysis at Canadian Solar since 2019.  Before joining Canadian Solar, Isabel was an Investment Analyst at the IFC (International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group) working on climate-related investments.  Previously, she was an Equity Research Analyst at Goldman Sachs. Isabel holds an MA in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar and a BSc (first class honors) in Economics from the University of Bath. Isabel is a CFA Charterholder.

Cari Collins

Director of Global Public Affairs, Communications & ESG

Cari Collins is the Director of Global Public Affairs, Communications & ESG at Recurrent Energy. Prior to joining Recurrent, Cari managed utility scale solar development at EDP Renewables NA (EDPR), where she worked to launch and establish EDPR’s North American solar energy and energy storage platform. Previously, Cari worked for Clean Line Energy Partners and managed stakeholder engagement and public affairs in her home state of Missouri for the Grain Belt Express Clean Line, a long-distance high voltage direct current transmission line.

Cari holds a Master of Political Science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and holds a BS in Political Science from Southeast MO State University. Cari resides in Houston, TX where she is an active member of the Junior League of Houston and a Committeeman of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
