Gillespie

Gillespie

Part of a six project portfolio acquired by Google and KKR in late 2013, Gillespie is the only project in this portfolio sited in Arizona. Recurrent Energy developed and constructed the project near the town of Buckeye, located to the west of Phoenix, AZ. Electricity generated from the projects will be delivered to a local utility via a 30-year power purchase agreement.

Gillespie is Recurrent Energy’s third project located in Arizona. The Bagdad Solar 1 and Ajo 1 projects began operation in 2011 and are owned by Duke Energy.

Benefits

The Gillespie project is sited on a 152 acre stretch of flat, sunny land, ideal for solar production. The project is surrounded by agricultural and vacant desert land and across the street from a water ski community.

This facility generates enough electricity in one year to power 3,280 average U.S. homes.
