Silizium, ein Element, das am h\u00e4ufigsten in Sand vorkommt, hat leitende Eigenschaften, dank derer es Sonnenlicht absorbieren und in elektrischen Strom umwandeln kann. Wenn Licht auf eine Siliziumzelle trifft, setzt es Elektronen in Bewegung, die in einem als \u201ephotovoltaischer Effekt\u201c bezeichneten Vorgang einen elektrischen Stromfluss in Gang setzen.  <\/p><p>Ein Solarkraftwerk besteht aus zahlreichen in Reihe geschalteten Solarmodulen. Diese sind mit einer Umwandlungsanlage verbunden, welche aus der Sonnenenergie nutzbare elektrische Energie f\u00fcr die Stromabnehmer macht.
