Consisting of nearly 24,000 solar panels, the project was one of the largest municipal solar arrays of its kind in the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The electricity generated from the project is delivered to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). In August 2013, <a href=\"http:\/\/stage.recurrentenergy.com\/press-release\/duke-energy-renewables-acquires-one-of-the-largest-urban-municipal-solar-projects-in-california-from-recurrent-energy\/\">Duke Energy Renewables acquired the Sunset Reservoir project<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sunset Reservoir project more than tripled San Francisco\u2019s supply of renewable energy.
