Il silicio, un elemento che si trova comunemente nella sabbia, ha propriet\u00e0 conduttive che gli permettono di assorbire e convertire la luce solare in elettricit\u00e0. Quando la luce interagisce con una cella di silicio, mette in movimento gli elettroni, dando inizio a un flusso di corrente elettrica in un processo noto come \u201ceffetto fotovoltaico\u201d.  <\/p><p>Una centrale solare \u00e8 costituita da una serie di pannelli solari collegati ad apparecchiature di conversione elettrica che trasformano l\u2019energia solare in energia utilizzabile in casa.
