The success of these projects located in England and Wales strengthens the company’s growing UK renewable energy portfolio
KITCHENER, ON, February, 16, 2026 — Recurrent Energy a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. („Canadian Solar”) (NASDAQ: CSIQ), a leading global developer, owner, and operator of solar and energy storage assets, has announced that it has secured Contracts for Difference (CfD) awards for four solar projects in the UK government’s Allocation Round 7 (AR7) auction, representing a combined installed capacity of 122 MWp.
The awarded portfolio spans four sites across Wales and England: CYP (20 MWp) and Gwenlais (18 MWp) in Wales, together with Home Farm (41 MWp) and Higher Witheven (43 MWp) in England. This geographic balance further strengthens Recurrent Energy’s position in the UK and supports the continued growth of domestically generated renewable power.
These latest awards expand the company’s participation in the UK’s Contracts for Difference (CfD) program and build on earlier allocation rounds, where 120 MWp of contracts were secured in AR6, further reinforcing the strength of Recurrent Energy’s contracted UK pipeline.
Once operational, the four projects are expected to generate more than 135,000 MWh of clean electricity per year. This level of production would prevent over 23,900 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually — equivalent to powering approximately 50,000 homes.
Allocation Round 7 is part of the CfD framework and is designed to accelerate investment in cost-effective, low-carbon generation while supporting long-term energy security.
Ismael Guerrero, CEO of Recurrent Energy, stated: “Securing four projects in Allocation Round 7 is an important milestone for Recurrent Energy in the UK. It demonstrates the competitiveness of our pipeline and our continued commitment to developing high-quality renewable projects.”
