Victor Phelan

Victor Phelan

Developed and constructed by Recurrent Energy, the Victor Phelan project is located near the town of Adelanto in Southern California. Electricity generated from the project will be delivered to Southern California Edison (SCE) via a 20-year power purchase agreement.

Victor Phelan is part of a six project portfolio acquired by Google and KKR in November 2013 and reached commercial operation in the same time frame. Google and KKR previously partnered in 2011 to invest in a four project portfolio totaling 88 MW near Sacramento, CA.

Benefits

The 18 MW project is located on flat, vacant desert land, ideal for solar development. To ensure minimal impact on the surrounding land, Recurrent Energy preserved several acres on the eastern end of the project site in order to maintain a natural drainage channel.

Victor Phelan generates enough electricity in one year to power 4,752 average California homes.

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with KKR and Recurrent Energy by investing in these fantastic solar facilities.”

– Kojo Ako-Asare, Head of Corporate Finance for Google
