Spanning multiple sites throughout northern and southern California, the Recurrent Energy developed 11 MWp/11 MWac of solar PV projects have helped Kaiser Permanente become a national leader in sustainability and renewable energy.
Recurrent Energy’s projects with Kaiser Permanente include 12 sites scattered across northern and southern California. Recurrent Energy developed and constructed the projects, selling 100 percent of the generated electricity to Kaiser.
The projects also underscore Recurrent Energy’s expertise with system design, utilizing a variety of system configurations and technologies to deliver the 11 MW of power. The portfolio includes rooftop solar, ground-mount solar, and elevated solar above existing parking garages and ground-level parking spaces.
Benefits
Each solar PV project in the Kaiser Portfolio produces an average of 10 percent of the electricity at each of the Kaiser facilities, which is roughly equivalent to the electricity needed to power 1,800 average U.S. homes.
“Kaiser Permanente sees renewable and clean energy as a key part of our environmental and sustainability strategy. As a health care organization, we are concerned with the health of our patients and our communities.”
— John Kouletsis, Director of Strategy, Planning and Design at Kaiser Permanente
